Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to work at the MCAS Cherry Point, NC site. You will diagnose malfunctions and repair GSE, train lower grade workers and ensure maintenance actions are properly documented.

The role requires citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, and English proficiency, plus four years of GSE maintenance experience. You will handle tool inventories, safety, and dispatch support while maintaining equipment records.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
• At least four (4) years of experience in inspection maintenance, repair and modification of powered ground support equipment.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements related to respirator, corrosion control, and blasting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must clear government background check and obtain CAC with 7-year background check for installation access.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Must possess and maintain required tools within 30 days of hire.
• Negative pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and repair GSE; train lower grade workers.
• Inspect and approve maintenance actions; document maintenance actions.
• Use automated maintenance data systems to monitor trends and equipment records.
• Disassemble and reassemble GSE components and accessories; perform servicing.
• Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment; provide dispatch service for GSE.
