Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) to learn grooming skills and support our grooming program. You will gain free training through Paragon School of Pet Grooming and may pursue a future Groomer role, with a bonus tool kit upon hire.

Core duties include grooming tasks, safety and wellness of pets, and helping the team during downtime. No prior grooming experience required, 18+ and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or other industry working with pets, but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Candidates must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and validated selection test and be at least 18 years old.
• Flexibility in working evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Delighting Neighbors and pets with grooming services, such as brushing, bathing, and trimming nails.
• Learning and demonstrating all the skills necessary to become a groomer through the online distance program.
• Always ensuring the wellness and safety of furry patrons.
• Developing long-term relationships with Neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy.
• Performing routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting.
• Successfully completing Safety Training certification.
• Assisting store team members during grooming downtime.
