Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to manage staffing, hiring, and development while driving sales and ensuring exceptional customer service. The role emphasizes mentoring teams, implementing safety standards, and engaging across departments to meet company goals.

You will lead by example, coordinate rotational assignments, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace that delivers on Meijer’s trusted brand and community focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear, precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a safety-conscious organization.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members at all levels.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Mentors and coaches the team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensures the team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and completes required training.
• Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
