Job summary

Meijer Inc. is looking for a proactive store leader to plan, direct, and supervise team members across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service, and implement strategies to improve sales while meeting service needs and maintaining store standards.

The role emphasizes staffing, development, and performance management with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and Meijer policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Lead organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Mentor team members across hourly positions and leadership roles.
• Complete all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members, involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and has completed required training.
• Spends majority of time within the store engaging with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
