Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience, including checkout.
• Communicate with team and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Support department scheduling to boost engagement, service, and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in food safety compliance and safe operations.
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and displays where applicable.
• Create an environment aligned with Meijer culture and diversity.
• Operate register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help meet targets.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
