Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager for our Philadelphia store to help customers make healthy choices while leading one of the store's busiest teams.

You will assist the Grocery Manager with departmental management, ordering, inventory, training, and daily operations, ensuring safety standards and top-notch service. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd like to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with 1–3 years retail management experience; familiarity with natural foods preferred
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours expected
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to take and give direction in a team environment
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and customer interaction skills
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and financial goals
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizing and planning abilities; able to prioritize multiple tasks
• Must lift/move milk trays up to 60 lbs and boxes up to 50 lbs for up to 25 hours
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access low areas up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Effectively coordinate merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort through store deliveries
• Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Grocery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
