Medford Cooperative seeks a Store Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a team, manage budgets, and drive profitability while delivering exceptional customer service. You will coordinate scheduling, promotions, and back‑office processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus experience in grocery/retail management and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5 years Customer Service Management experience in grocery or retail environment.
• Preferred 5-7 years grocery retail experience in overall store operations.
• Regularly scheduled travel to other Medford Cooperative locations will be required for educational purposes.
• Demonstrates friendly, courteous, service-oriented attitude
• Strong understanding of department financials and the ability to manage budgets to meet financial goals
• Ability to provide clear direction and delegate responsibilities to a team after determining department needs

Responsibilities

• Lead employees by positive example in all actions and communications.
• Oversee each department's schedules to ensure customers have the best shopping experience while meeting budgets.
• Achieve budgeted financial goals through tracking costs/sales and executing marketing plans, promotions, displays and cost controls.
• Review monthly Profit and Loss statements and adjust operations to stay on budget.
• Understand back-office processes including ad batches, vendor price files and margins.
• Build promotions with vendors and the cooperative team for effective product placement.
• Manage and train employees with coaching, feedback, and 1:1 meetings.
• Coordinate with management and HR on staffing, labor relations and department needs.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel.
• Provide best-in-class customer service and greet, engage, and thank every guest.
• Monitor inventory controls and maintain product knowledge across departments.
• Support store promotions, vendor relations and attractive displays.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adherence to sanitation regulations.
