Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Job Summary: As the Grocery Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our store's operations. You will lead a team of passionate employees, collaborate with local suppliers, and maintain an inviting shopping environment. Your exceptional leadership skills and keen business acumen will drive the store's success while fostering strong community relationships. Bonus structure as well. This position is located in South Dakota

Responsibilities of Grocery Store Manager
  1. Store Operations Management: Ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the grocery store, maintaining a well-organized and clean environment. Manage inventory levels and ordering processes, ensuring a consistent supply of products while minimizing waste. Oversee pricing, promotions, and product displays to maximize sales and enhance the shopping experience. Implement and enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and employees.
  2. Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and schedule a team of dedicated store staff, providing guidance and support to promote excellent customer service. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that motivates employees to deliver exceptional performance. Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer coaching and feedback, and facilitate growth opportunities for team members.
  3. Customer Service Excellence: Cultivate a customer-centric atmosphere by delivering personalized service and addressing customer needs and concerns. Develop relationships with customers to understand their preferences and tailor the store's offerings accordingly. Monitor customer feedback and use insights to continuously improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  4. Vendor and Local Supplier Management: Collaborate with local farmers, producers, and suppliers to source fresh, locally grown products when possible. Negotiate contracts and build strong partnerships with vendors to ensure reliable product availability and competitive pricing.
  5. Financial Management: Develop and manage the store's budget, optimizing expenses while aiming for sustainable profitability. Analyze sales performance, financial reports, and key metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic solutions.
  6. Community Engagement: Actively engage with the local community to understand its needs and preferences. Participate in community events, sponsorships, and initiatives to strengthen the store's presence and brand loyalty.
Qualifications for Grocery Store Manager
  • Proven experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in the grocery retail industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a passion for developing employees.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and a genuine commitment to community-focused retailing.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory management, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions.
  • Familiarity with rural community dynamics and a willingness to embrace the values and culture of the local area.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the rural community.
