Job Objectives

Manages the operation of a Walgreens store, aiming to improve sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, protection of store assets, team member development, and delivering a distinctive customer and patient experience.

Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
  • Monitor and analyze customer service, provide training, and develop improvement plans.
  • Greet and assist customers and clinic patients.
  • Model and share customer service best practices to ensure a delightful experience.
  • Resolve customer complaints and address special needs.
Operations
  • Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including staffing and scheduling.
  • Oversee financial controls, cash handling, and bookkeeping.
  • Manage merchandising, inventory, and store presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Handle repairs, emergencies, and technology systems.
Daily Planning and Execution
  • Assign daily responsibilities and set team expectations.
Business Performance Management
  • Analyze financial and performance data to develop growth strategies.
  • Review KPIs and asset protection data, and work with pharmacy and clinic teams to optimize performance.
Business Planning
  • Identify sales opportunities and manage inventory levels.
People and Performance Management
  • Manage team performance, recruitment, training, and employee development.
  • Address performance issues and ensure fair treatment.
Training and Personal Development
  • Participate in training programs and obtain necessary licensure or certification.
  • Engage in self-development and learning about retail and pharmacy fields.
Communications
  • Serve as liaison between district, corporate, and store.
  • Conduct community outreach and participate in events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years retail management experience.
  • Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant as required by state law, or licensed RPh.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Additional Details
