Job summary

Cosentino's Markets in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead all store departments and drive growth while delivering the product and service Cosentino customers expect. This exempt position reports to the Store Director.

Responsibilities include supervising daily operations, coaching staff, managing labor costs, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, all while promoting teamwork and a superior customer experience.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required for deliveries.
• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• A liquor license is required prior to the first day of work (If applicable).
• A minimum of 2 years of management experience in a food service, retail, and/or grocery store setting is required.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall supervision of the activities of all departments in an operationally effective and respectful manner.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, high morale, and strong interpersonal communication.
• Provide coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations to improve team performance.
• Address employee relations issues and coordinate with HR when needed.
• Conduct effective interviews to hire high-quality candidates for any department.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate when appropriate to management.
