Job summary

Cosentino's Market is seeking a Deli Prep Manager in Overland Park, KS to lead deli prep activities and ensure high-quality product and courteous service. Reporting to the Deli Manager, this role emphasizes accurate preparation, inventory control, and adherence to health standards.

The position requires food handling permits within 14 days and ongoing training per Cosentino’s Learning Plan; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately prepare, package and label products for sale to customers.
• Know and practice appropriate portion control in deli production and service.
• Practice effective inventory management by counting and verifying merchandise against invoices and inspecting deliveries for shortages, damages and quality.
• Know and practice rotation procedures to ensure product dates are properly monitored.
• Be able to prep and produce at least 1 full day or more on production products for all refrigerated cases.
• Meet production planner expectations daily and complete daily inventory of production items on hand.
• Ensure all coolers, freezers and preparation areas are clean and organized.
• Assist in thawing product for next day’s catering and/or hot line production.
• Be familiar with items in your department to answer customer questions accurately.
