Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

1. Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps products within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
2. Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
3. Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are correctly located on shelves, in saleable condition, with proper prices and signage.
4. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
5. Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy, removing unsellable products.
6. Maintains sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and health/OSHA standards. Properly disposes of trash.
7. Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control, complying with security policies. Stocks items at a rate determined by company standards.
8. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
9. Ensures smooth department and store operation by cooperating with coworkers and supervisors. Continually seeks to improve job performance.
10. Uses all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
11. May assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
