Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Build displays to drive incremental sales. Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness. Keep products within easy customer reach. Store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
• Greet customers with a smile, answer questions, and help resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are correctly located on shelves, in saleable condition, with correct prices and signage.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries using power or hand jacks (training provided).
• Handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy. Remove unsellable products.
• Maintain sanitation in the department by following cleaning schedules and guidelines to meet health and OSHA standards. Properly dispose of trash.
• Maintain productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Comply with security regulations. Put out stock at a rate determined by company standards.
• Assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
• Ensure smooth department and store operation by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company-provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (or working towards it). No prior experience required.
