Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Keeps the Grocery department well-stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps products within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
2. Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
3. Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are correctly located on shelves, in saleable condition, with correct prices and signage.
4. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
5. Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy. Removes unsellable products.
6. Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are maintained, clean, and meet health and OSHA standards. Properly disposes of trash.
7. Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Complies with security regulations and policies. Puts out stock at a rate determined by company standards.
8. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
9. Ensures smooth department and store operations by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Strives to improve job performance continuously.
10. Uses all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
11. May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
