Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in management is required.
• Desirable: 1 year of grocery retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO)
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies
• Assist store management in budgeting, P&L reviews and take action on financial reports
• Monitor and control expenses for the department
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Implement promotional plans
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales/merchandising supervisor
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management
• Understand store layout and be able to locate products
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions and suggestions
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume
• Collaborate with associates to achieve goals
• Communicate information to associates
• Supervise and coach direct reports and provide feedback
• Work cooperatively in high paced or stressful environments
• Manage conflict constructively
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
