• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Management experience required.
• 1 year of grocery retail experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity; notify management of accidents.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO (Computer Assisted Ordering).
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Maintain awareness of inventory conditions; note discrepancies.
• Assist store management in budgets, P&L reviews, and take action on financial reports.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Implement period promotional plans for the department.
• Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for sales/merchandising supervisor.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Understand store layout and locate products; answer questions and suggest products.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance reviews.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork toward goals.
• Communicate department information to associates.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; provide feedback and conduct performance reviews.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment; manage conflicts constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
