Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Grocery experience helpful.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate information to associates.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Train associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Know products and respond to questions.
• Offer product samples to customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Develop and implement a department business plan.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Stay current with ads.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Assist with budget, P&L reviews and financial reporting.
• Maintain inventory awareness and address discrepancies.
• Schedule price changes and manage shelf tags.
• Plan and supervise inventory process.
• Train associates on inventory/stocking and CAO.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report safety risks, theft or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments.
• Manage conflict calmly and professionally.
• Protect customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help as needed.
• Support and assist minors, those with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
