Job summary

Stater Bros. Markets, Inc. is seeking a General Merchandise Clerk (GMC) to perform front-end duties, stock shelves, and fulfill e-commerce orders with a strong emphasis on customer service.

The GMC will work across departments including Grocery, Ecommerce, Produce, and Floral, ensuring clean, safe, and organized displays and accurate pricing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and service at all times.
• Ability to work well within the team and follow direction with a good attitude.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with customers and teammates.
• Basic math and reading skills for handling pricing, labels, equipment, and inventory.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer’s shopping experience (G.O.A.T).
• Assist with customer questions and locating products; communicate issues to store management.
• Bag groceries carefully and help customers with loading groceries to their vehicles.
• Ensure shopping carts are gathered and organized for customer use.
• Stock shelves, build GMC displays, and maintain backroom organization.
• Process online orders and prepare items for pickup or delivery.
