Stater Bros. Markets, Inc. is seeking a General Merchandise Clerk (GMC) to deliver G.O.A.T. service across multiple store areas. You will assist customers, stock shelves, fulfill ecommerce orders, and support floral and produce displays while maintaining a safe store environment.

The GMC role requires a team player with strong communication, reliability, and physical stamina to handle tasks in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
• Friendly, helpful attitude focused on customer satisfaction.

• Excellent communication with customers and teammates.
• Basic math and reading skills for pricing and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer experience.
• Assist customers with questions, locating products, recommendations, and reporting out-of-stock issues.
• Bag groceries carefully and help load items to customers' vehicles.
• Gather carts from the parking lot and keep entrances organized.
• Stock shelves, refill displays, and follow planograms.
• Follow bread procedures for bread orders and maintain backroom cleanliness.
• Create and maintain GMC product displays per planograms and seasonal guidelines.
• Maintain backroom by bale cardboard and keeping space organized and safe.
• Ensure accurate signage and pricing with routine price updates.
• Keep aisles clean, safe, and free of hazards; sweep and manage spills.
• Process online orders: inspect items for damage and freshness before packing.
• Update customers on substitutions or delays for online orders.
• Pack and label items for pickup and communicate progress to management.
• Escort completed orders to customers' vehicles for a smooth pickup.
• Prepare fresh-cut produce: cut, package, label, and price items.
• Stock and rotate merchandise for freshness and display appeal.
• Monitor temperatures and proper storage for produce.
• Maintain logs of damaged or lost merchandise; assist monthly inventory counts.
• Price changes for floral and GMC produce; maintain attractive displays.
• Stock floral merchandise and maintain fresh inventory; ensure signage and promotions.
• Operate standard store equipment safely and work with the team for smooth operations.
• Perform other duties as needed, including courtesy clerk tasks.
