Job summary

Stater Bros. Markets, Inc. is seeking a General Merchandise Clerk (GMC) to deliver G.O.A.T service across front-end, grocery, ecommerce, produce, and floral areas. The role supports multiple store operations, stocking, displays, and customer assistance to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

The GMC will perform tasks in various departments, including bagging, stocking, and assisting with floral/ecommerce orders, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer’s shopping experience (G.O.A.T).
• Assist customers with questions, locating products, recommendations, and communicate stock issues to management.
• Bag groceries carefully and help load groceries to customers’ vehicles.
• Ensure shopping carts are gathered and organized at store entrances.
• Stock and refill shelves, displays, and end caps; follow bread ordering procedures.
• Build and maintain GMC product displays per planograms and seasonal guidelines.
• Keep backroom clean and organized; bale cardboard regularly.
• Ensure correct signage and pricing; implement routine price changes.
• Maintain clean aisles and working floors; handle spills and trash promptly.
• Receive online orders, inspect items for damage, and pack for shipment; update customers on substitutions or delays.
