Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members and involvement in promotions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure teams are trained in all aspects of their jobs and complete required training.
• Spend most of the time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
