Job summary

H-E-B is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to help oversee daily department operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will support the Department Manager with scheduling, performance feedback, ordering, and payroll monitoring while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will work closely with Partners to uphold customer service, integrity, and efficiency, performing typical ADM duties and occasionally stepping into representative roles as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of School of Retail Management Phases I and II (internal Partners).
• Completion of remaining technical and leadership courses within one year of ADM placement.
• Completion of qualifications to assume a Department Manager position within one year of placement as an ADM.

Responsibilities

• Assists Department Manager with preparing work schedules and performance appraisals.
• Provides work direction to Partners under the Department Manager.
• Assists with ordering, inventory, and budget/payroll monitoring.
• Performs routine inspections to ensure productivity, quality, and sanitation.
• Receives, stocks, and merchandises products for the department.
• Assists Customers with inquiries or product selection.
• Maintains high levels of customer service and SOP compliance.
• Ensures compliance with regulations for product safety and sanitation.
• Performs Representative and Specialist duties as needed.
