Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, TX-style footprint operates 215+ stores across TX, LA, AR, OK. We’re seeking a grocery department manager to lead sales and profitability, supervise partners, and uphold food safety, product quality, and strong customer service.

You’ll manage inventory, conduct training, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory practices while fostering a thriving, community-focused team culture.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required with two+ years related experience.
• Must be 18+; 21+ for driving per policy.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.
• AML certification required.
• HIPAA certification required.
• TABC/LACT/AATC certification where applicable.
• Fuel Operator C training required.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train and develop partners; plan, assign and direct work.
• Review historical data to predict sales from ads and promotions.
• Manage inventory to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
• Review P&L, sales, shrink and labor data; report to upper management.
• Maintain and improve sales performance, financial results, and work standards.
• Inspect product quality and food safety; ensure date checks and rotation.
• Promote sales via suggestive selling and displays.
• Maintain stock conditions on racks and shelves.
• Open/close the store and ensure adequate staff and safety.
• Greet customers and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain clean, safe and sanitary working/shopping environment.
