Qualifications

• Willing to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Grocery retail experience and/or backup management experience preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
• Knowledge of department operations including ordering, inventory, scheduling and expense control.

Responsibilities

• Assist Department Manager in planning, staffing and directing Grocery Department associates.
• Help manage Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) to ensure appropriate merchandise levels.
• Price and display products; maintain signage, rotation, and cleanliness.
• Deliver prompt, courteous service to customers and resolve issues calmly.
• Support budgets, goals and program implementation in the department.
