Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to fully complete the cashier training program
• Ability to memorize produce items and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 years old

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Retail experience

Essential Job Functions:

1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understand the Point of Sale system, and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
2. Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
3. Promote trust and respect among team members.
4. Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold.
5. Maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions, making suggestions about products.
6. Greet, engage, and assist customers.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials.
8. Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
9. Report product ordering, shipping, and pricing discrepancies to store management.
10. Adhere to company's limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
11. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
12. Stay current with ads and promotions.
13. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
14. Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
15. Perform preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, and report repairs.
16. Notify management of accidents.
17. Follow all laws and company guidelines.
18. Physical demands include standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions.
19. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
20. Manage conflict professionally.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
