Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products sold.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers; inform them of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise; report discrepancies to management.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, safety procedures, and guidelines on restricted sale items.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; ensure food safety and proper temperatures; maintain logs.
• Practice safety, inspect equipment, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing as required.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with integrity.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Basic math knowledge
• Complete cashier training
• Memorize produce and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 or older
