Grocery Clerk

Provide friendly customer service to customers, team members, and outside vendors. Responsibilities include merchandising, stocking, rotating products, facing, cashiering, bagging, and cleaning.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Transport stock for storage in stock areas.
2. Keep store shelves fully stocked according to ordering system requirements. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.
3. Rotate perishable merchandise and remove out-of-date products as needed.
4. Greet customers and be observant of their needs.
5. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, display cases, shelves, and aisles.
6. Assist customers with questions about merchandise and advise on product selection.
7. Compare merchandise invoices to received items to ensure shipment accuracy.
8. Receive, unpack, and display merchandise on the sales floor.
9. Requisition merchandise from suppliers based on space, demand, and specials.
10. Take inventory and identify items to be reordered or replenished.
11. Report to work on time, in proper attire, and prepared for the full shift.
12. Follow all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills Needed:

• Count, handle, and balance cash drawer accurately.
• Read case labels and shelf tags.
