Key Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
  • Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory departmental merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  • Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance, inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Notify management of any accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
