Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Checking product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered grocery products, labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
- Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
- Creating a welcoming environment, answering questions, and making customers feel valued.
- Reinforcing safety programs, inspecting equipment, and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts, and acting with honesty and integrity.
- Following directions, seeking assistance when needed, and supporting customers with special needs.
