Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Staying current with ads and promotions.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
  • Gaining product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Supporting a cooperative work environment, managing conflicts professionally, and acting with honesty and integrity.
  • Following directions, seeking assistance when needed, and supporting customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
