Responsibilities include:

• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review 'sell by' dates, taking appropriate action.
• Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
• Develop knowledge of products and assist customers with questions and suggestions.
• Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
