Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a process development scientist to join the gRNA process development team in Boston. You will synthesize, purify, and characterize gRNAs to advance drug substance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include carrying out solid-phase synthesis, purification, routine analytics (HPLC/UV-Vis), preparing buffers, compiling data, and maintaining meticulous notebooks in a fast-paced, safety-conscious lab.

Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry (or related field) with at least 2 years of relevant laboratory industry experience.
  • Experience with oligonucleotide synthesis and purification equipment; gRNA or longmer synthesis/purification is a plus.
  • Experience operating analytical equipment such as Akta chromatography systems, Agilent U/HPLC, gel electrophoresis, and NanoDrop.
  • Experience with Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) is required.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain electronic lab notebooks (Benchling).
  • Commitment to safety, detail orientation, and strong time-management.

Job Description

We are seeking a process development scientist to join the guide-RNA (gRNA) process development team. The successful candidate will be contributing to gRNA drug substance process development for programs in clinical development. In this role, the candidate will synthesize, purify, and characterize gRNAs in an effort to develop drug substance manufacturing processes and controls.

  • Execute solid-phase synthesis and purification experiments to support process development, scale-up, and transfer of oligonucleotide drug substance manufacturing.
  • Execute routine analytics including HPLC and UV-Vis.
  • Prepare buffers, reagents, and stock solutions used for process development activities, following established recipes and SOPs.
  • Compile and present data to team members and key stakeholders
  • Maintain an updated lab notebook, order materials, maintain lab equipment, and support equipment troubleshooting as needed.
  • Uphold lab safety to the highest level of standards.

_ Preferred Qualifications:_
  • Background in CRISPR gRNA development.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
