Job summary

Dalsin Industries in Bloomington, MN seeks a Metal Finisher to perform precision smoothing, grinding, deburring and polishing on a variety of metal types to achieve required finishes. The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting work pieces for defects, operating finishing tools and equipment, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Experience in a manufacturing setting and basic math skills are helpful, with capability to use ERP systems for production

Responsibilities

• Finish products by grinding, deburring, filing, sanding and polishing to required quality.

• Read blueprints and follow specifications precisely.
• Keep equipment clean and prepare for changeovers as needed.
• Operate forklift/crane and other material handling as required.

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Metal Finisher is to safely perform a variety of finishing functions such as precision smoothing, grinding, deburring and polishing a variety of metal types to a range of finishes

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Finishing products by grinding, deburring, filing, sanding, polishing to the quality level required.
• Examine work pieces for defects using proper measuring tools to ensure conformance with specifications. Inspect and feel surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents or scratches and repair as applicable
• Able to use straight-liner, hand grinders, finishing equipment, finishing tumbler, etc.
• Utilize blueprints to perform job
• Clean equipment as needed prior to changeovers or at the end of the shift
• Able to work with various materials; carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel

• Understand duties prior to beginning each job by reviewing work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, parameters, and location of surfaces.
• Operate forklift, crane and other material handling operations as required
