Job summary

LPC Personnel, Inc. seeks a dependable Grinder to join our metal fabrication team. You will grind, finish, deburr, and prepare components to meet quality and dimensional specs, working with handheld and stationary grinders.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, using measuring tools, selecting grinding wheels, maintaining tools, and adhering to safety procedures and PPE guidelines while supporting production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience as grinder or metal finisher preferred.
• Experience grinding/finishing steel or metal products.
• Ability to safely operate grinders and power tools.
• Identify surface defects and achieve required finish.
• Read work instructions, drawings, or specifications.
• Use basic measuring tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or in a team.

• Operate other hand and power tools used in metal fabrication.
• Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist other production and fabrication employees as needed.

• Remove excess weld material, sharp edges, slag, and surface imperfections


• Inspect parts to ensure proper finish, dimensions, and quality


• Use measuring tools to verify finished parts meet specifications


• Select and replace grinding wheels and abrasives as needed


• Operate other hand and power tools used in metal fabrication


• Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools
