Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC in Mebane, NC, seeks a detail-oriented Finisher/Grinder to deburr parts, grind welds, polish and prep parts for paint per workmanship standards. Working Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime as needed.

The role requires 2+ years finishing tools experience in production, metal or wood finishing, and strong hand-eye coordination. Basic computer skills and the ability to read instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years experience working with finishing tools in a production environment.
• Should have metal or wood finishing experience.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
• Performs basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
• Inspect parts for visible defects and segregate.
• Remove the access material from weldments.
• Responsible for inspection of grinding machines, stones and blades to ensure proper condition.
• Responsible for reporting any deviations in equipment and product.
• Read and follow all related work instructions, such as shop orders, process sheets and grinding instructions.
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global.
• Complete paperwork/job sheets required for area.
• Cleaning work station on a daily basis.
• Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires.
• Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task, and follow safety practices.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Work with electric and pneumatic hand tools to de burr parts, grind welds, polish and grain parts and prepare parts for paint per company workmanship standards.

Environmental Conditions

• Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
• Exposure to loud noise, at times

Physical Demands

• Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
• Able to lift 50-75 lbs.
• This is a 40 hour per week job with the potential for overtime
