Covenant Retirement Communities & Covenant Care is seeking a Bereavement Coordinator to develop and maintain a bereavement program for families/caregivers for up to one year after the death of a hospice patient. You will coordinate grief counseling services (individuals and groups), provide information and referrals to the community, and participate in hospice education and quality initiatives.

The role requires a relevant degree (Bachelor’s/theological or MSW) and experience with clinical grief

Qualifications

• Understanding of grief response and counseling individuals or groups.
• Ability to work as a team member in a hospice setting.
• Knowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain bereavement program for families/caregivers up to one year after death.
• Coordinate assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs (1:1, groups, follow-ups).
• Provide bereavement information and referrals to community callers; maintain resources list.
• Participate in hospice activities, in-service education, personnel meetings, and committees.
• Provide bereavement support to hospice staff; supervise interns providing counseling; refer to community resources.
• Assist in evaluating and planning services to meet staff support needs (retreats, groups).
• Engage in quality assessment and performance improvement activities.
