Job summary

1898 & Co. (part of Burns & McDonnell) is seeking a Client Engagement Director for Grid Systems Consulting.

You will partner with electric utility clients to shape and advance grid modernization programs, operating technology, and control center modernization. You will lead sales lifecycle, build executive relationships, and coordinate with delivery teams to translate client needs into strategic consulting engagements across SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS, and AMI platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, finance, business, or related field; 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge within consulting, energy, power, utilities, information technology, or cybersecurity.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information to all levels.
• Experience negotiating and contracting for consulting services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage strong relationships with electric utility clients and executives.
• Lead full sales lifecycle from discovery to contract execution.
• Position Grid Systems services to align with client priorities and technology investments.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to shape scope, staffing, pricing, and pursuit strategy.
• Translate client business and operational needs into Grid Systems consulting solutions.
• Represent 1898 & Co. as a credible Grid Systems consulting leader.
