Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Service Engineer within its Grid Integration Service for North America. This office-based role provides administrative and phone support to field service teams and customers, coordinating across hardware, software, networking, and control systems to troubleshoot and keep grid assets operating reliably.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with computer-based control systems.
• Knowledge of substation products, equipment, and practices.
• Familiarity with ANSI, CSA, IEC safety standards.
• Autonomy to work in time-critical, high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Support service activities for power quality systems, including hardware, software, networking, and control.
• Provide remote troubleshooting using system documentation and technical references.
• Coordinate intake of service needs and triage calls for field teams and customers.
• Assist with system-focused training for junior engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, suppliers and customers to support service delivery.
• Contribute to internal process improvements and service execution enhancements.
• Support Grid Integration service coordination for FACTS and HVDC applications.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
