Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC is seeking a Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, and service activities for power quality and grid integration systems across North America. This office‑based role focuses on providing administrative and phone support to field service teams and customers, emphasizing rapid troubleshooting and coordination in time-sensitive situations.

You will work across hardware, software, networking, and control systems to support technologies such as Series

Qualifications

• Work authorization to be employed in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in electrical/power fields.
• Experience with computer-based control systems.
• Knowledge of substation equipment and engineering practices.
• Familiarity with power electronics like SVC, Series Capacitors, or HVDC is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously in time-critical situations and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Support service activities for power quality systems including hardware, software, networking, and control.
• Serve as primary support for service teams and customers via phone triage.
• Provide remote troubleshooting using system docs and references.
• Assist with system-focused testing and service coordination.
• Help train internal engineers and customers.
• Collaborate with teams to support service delivery.
• Contribute to internal process improvements.
• Support Grid Integration service coordination for FACTS and HVDC.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
