Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Senior Automation Manager for the Holly Springs facility to lead automation engineering in a greenfield project focused on large-volume drug product manufacturing.

You will manage Rockwell-based systems, drive design, validation, and lifecycle management, and partner with IT and Quality to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance across the site. Some travel and on-site responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, IT or related field.
• At least 10 years as a systems engineer involved in design/implementation/support of Rockwell control systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams.
• Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support as required.
• Experience with Rockwell SCADA, Pharmasuite, OSIsoft PI, Rockwell PLCs, AssetCentre, Studio 5000 Logix, OPC architectures is a plus.
• Experience with antivirus and backup applications for control systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the site automation engineering team, overseeing professional development and daily operations.
• Drive the automation strategy for the facility, ensuring alignment with global standards and local manufacturing needs.
• Oversee the design, commissioning, and validation of process control systems for the Greenfield project.
• Establish and maintain robust life cycle management for all site control and manufacturing systems.
• Partner with IT and Quality stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance across all automated platforms.
