Job summary

Genentech in Holly Springs, NC is seeking a Senior Automation Manager to guide the automation engineering efforts for a landmark Greenfield Drug Product manufacturing project. The role blends remote and on-site work during the buildout and will transition to full-time on-site.

You will lead a talented team, drive automation strategy, oversee design, commissioning and validation of process control systems, and partner with IT and Quality to ensure data integrity and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience in systems engineering for design, implementation or support of Rockwell control systems.
• At least 3 years in people/team management.
• 24x7 support and on-call duties including weekends/holidays.
• Experience with Rockwell SCADA and pharma-grade automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site automation engineering team and operations.
• Drive automation strategy aligned with global standards.
• Oversee design, commissioning and validation of process control systems.
• Establish lifecycle management for site control and manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with IT and Quality to ensure data integrity and compliance.
