Job summary
Genentech’s Holly Springs facility seeks a Principal Automation Engineer to own and optimize automated material handling systems, including K.One.X WCS, AS/RS, and AGV fleets. The role bridges hardware and digital layers, ensuring compliant, high-throughput operations in a GMP environment.
You will deliver system maintenance, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration with IT and site teams during a greenfield build and live operations, with travel up to 30% during project phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s with years of automation experience in drug product manufacturing.
- 5+ years in pharma/biotech with GMP experience preferred.
- Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support.
Responsibilities
- System Health Monitoring of Körber K.One.X and AS/RS.
- L2/L3 technical escalation for automation failures.
- Disaster Recovery procedures for WCS and PLC configurations.
- Manage AGV fleet availability and safety checks.
- Interface oversight between SAP EWM and WCS.
- Ensure 21 CFR Part 11 compliant logging and audits.
- Analyze OEE data to optimize cycle times.
