Job summary

City of Boston is seeking a Workforce Development Manager to support the Green Jobs Youth Corps program and related workforce initiatives. The role focuses on guiding corps members from enrollment through transition to employment, education, or national service, with a strong emphasis on career counseling and skill-building.

The position involves coordinating with the EEOS Cabinet and program partners, developing training plans, and contributing to program evaluations.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience preferred, with at least two years working with opportunity youth and returning citizens.
• A master’s degree may substitute for three years of experience and a bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Support corps members to transition to employment or post-secondary education
• Provide career counseling and soft-skills development, resume writing, and interview prep
• Develop individualized employment and training plans with pathway exploration
• Conduct regular check-ins with corps members at various work sites
• Support development and delivery of professional development panels and workshops
• Collaborate with the team to evaluate corps members and partner organizations
• Support alumni of the program after program completion
