Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Borough Supervisor for the Green Infrastructure Maintenance Program. The role supervises cleaning and upkeep of porous paver installations and infiltration basins, writes schedules, coordinates with Bureau partners, and oversees field operations and data collection.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in construction or public works, knowledge of green infrastructure practices, and the ability to manage logs,

Qualifications

• Four years of recent full-time experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of sewers, streets, highways or water supply systems, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
• A satisfactory equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, instructs and trains full-time and seasonal employees and alternative workforces assigned to the maintenance of green infrastructure practices.
• Oversees maintenance and cleaning of green infrastructure assets, including snow and ice management.
• Ensures vehicles and equipment are maintained and that safety procedures are followed.
• Oversees procurement and stocking of tools, supplies, and equipment; coordinates with fleet services and vendors.
• Oversees quality control and provides feedback to staff; may supervise contractors.
• May work with Federal, State, and City agencies on regulatory or operational issues.
