Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks City Park Workers to support DEP Green Infrastructure maintenance and related field operations. Four vacancies are listed with emphasis on general upkeep of assets and safety.

Selected candidates will perform sediment and litter removal, edging, seeding, snow removal, trimming, sweeping, cleaning, drainage structures and minor masonry or carpentry work as needed. Residency rules apply.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required.
• Must have a New York State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Infiltration Basin Inspections.
• Infiltration Basin Cleaning.
• Excavation to depths which do not require sheeting and shoring.
• Vacuum excavation of infiltration basins.
• Mix cement and concrete under direction.
• Move, lift, and carry heavy objects related to work at the job site.
• Move and lift infiltration basin structures, equipment, and waste.
• Drive vehicles and operate motorized equipment; perform safety checks on facilities and equipment.
