Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks two City Park Workers to join its green stormwater maintenance teams. Primary focus is driving motorized equipment to maintain porous pavement in NYC streets, coordinating with green infrastructure staff on work orders.

Minimum qualifications include a NY Driver’s License; ability to read and follow orders; there are medical and physical requirements. NYC residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• A NYS valid Driver's License is required.
• Ability to read, understand and obey orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general maintenance: edging, seeding, snow removal, cultivation, fertilizing, trimming, sweeping, litter removal.
• Maintain facilities including drainage structures.
• Perform minor repairs: plumbing, masonry, carpentry, metal work, vehicle/equipment repair.
• Drive vehicles and operate motorized equipment; perform safety checks.
• Move furniture and perform other physical tasks as required.
