Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company invites students to join the Arborist Trainee Internship in North Royalton, OH. This field-based program runs for Spring-Summer 2027, offering hands-on experience alongside seasoned arborists and landscape professionals who deliver high-quality client service and tree health care.

Hours are 40-50 per week (Mon–Fri with some Saturdays); salary is $22–$23 per hour. Applicants studying related disciplines with a valid driver's license are encouraged to apply, with CDL

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
• Driver's license required. Commercial driver's license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor and work in the field with experienced arborists and technicians.
• Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
• Assist with tree and landscape installation.
• Operate equipment safely (chainsaws, chippers, etc.).
• Support Plant Health Care tasks and pest/disease management.
• Engage in client service, sales, management, and leadership basics.
