Job summary

STRS Ohio is seeking a Graphic Production Specialist to join the Executive/ Communications and Public Affairs team. The role focuses on producing print and digital communications, coordinating in-house and outsourced printing, and maintaining production logs.

Oversee templates, brand compliance, and vendor communications while supporting publishing needs and project efficiency. On-site work with a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three to five years of relevant experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of Communications and Public Affairs workflow processes, capabilities, methods and tools preferred.
• Experience with print and digital production methods, fulfillment, mailing processes and supply procurement required.
• Knowledge of STRS Ohio operations, processes, benefits and services preferred.
• Proficiency with Mac and Windows; working knowledge of InDesign and Acrobat Pro for templates.
• Familiarity with FileMaker Pro and other industry-standard tools preferred.
• Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills required.
• Ability to adhere to STRS Ohio brand guidelines.
• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate black-and-white and color digital presses and finishing equipment.
• Update and maintain manuals and project logs.
• Coordinate printing and mailing projects; monitor quality and logs.
• Maintain JTS and project details; manage due dates and purchase orders.
• Coordinate workflow with editorial, design and web teams.
• Prepare quarterly management reports.
• Perform basic design updates using templates and brand direction.
• Prepare files for final production review; release artwork to vendors.
• Ensure external print and mailing quality and cost-efficiency.
• Manage paper stock inventory and related supplies.
• Prepare in-house mailings and maintain mailing logs.
• Assist in budget processes; track expenses and process invoices.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
