Job summary

STRS Ohio seeks a Manager of Visual Communications to lead the team responsible for the design and development of organizational communications for Ohio educators, stakeholders, and staff. The role focuses on visual storytelling, multimedia and video production, and the responsible use of AI tools to improve production efficiency.

Under the chief communications officer, you will guide creative direction, manage staff, and ensure consistency with STRS Ohio branding while meeting tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications or a relevant field required.
• Master’s degree in marketing, communications or business administration preferred.
• Ten or more years’ graphic design experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the visual communications function and supervise visual designers.
• Direct and oversee visual designers and production staff, including assignments and priorities.
• Develop creative briefs, storyboards and project mockups when appropriate.
• Oversee projects from concept through final review and delivery.
• Collaborate with design and web teams to strengthen concepts and projects.
