Job summary

The Okaloosa County School System seeks an experienced Grants Administrator to oversee grants administration, RESTORE Act compliance, and related financial processes. This role serves as the primary contact for grant activities and collaborates with county staff, funders, and partners to advance program objectives.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and substantial grants experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or closely-related field.
• Five (5) years of technical grants administration experience in a governmental or municipal setting, including three (3) years in supervisory or lead capacity.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff; provides hiring recommendations.
• Develops a grants administration work plan with goals, objectives, and compliance measures.
• Identifies grant opportunities using professional judgement aligned with county strategy.
• Maintains relationships with funders and strategic partners at local, state, and national levels.
• Develops grants management system processes and ensures documentation and compliance.
• Provides guidance on grant implementation, reporting, and related financial/purchasing procedures.
• Coordinates year-end federal award reporting and related audits.
• Serves as the point of contact for RESTORE Act matters to the Board of County Commissioners.
